Help your clones transition successfully with a proven dome schedule
Dome Venting Schedule
Once your clones are cut, the dome helps them hold moisture while roots form. But if you leave the dome on too long — or remove it too fast — you can lose your whole tray. Use this day-by-day planner to help your plants adapt to ambient air safely.
Why Venting Matters
Humidity domes help new clones survive the first few days by keeping them from drying out. But over time, clones need to "breathe" and adapt to normal room air. Gradual venting helps strengthen stems and prevents shock when the dome is removed.
Dome FAQ
Q: What if my clones wilt after I remove the dome?
A: That means they aren't ready yet. Put the dome back on, mist lightly, and reduce time outside. Try again the next day with a shorter interval.
Q: Should I still mist during venting?
A: Yes — mist the dome walls and leaves once or twice per day, especially during the first 3–5 days.
Q: Can I skip the dome if my humidity is already high?
A: Not recommended for beginners. Domes offer more control and reduce transplant shock.
